Cement Mixer Transported by Heavy Rigging Company
Falzone’s Towing is well known in the area for their expert towing services. However, our expertise extends well beyond this, as we are also a reputable heavy rigging company. We recently put this skillset to work in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania.
The customer in question called after realizing a heavy rigging company would be needed for his cement mixer. The cement hardened in the barrel, rendering the mixer inoperable. As such, the mixer would require the help of a heavy rigging company to first lift, and then transport, the pieces back to the customer’s shop.
Falzone’s dispatcher immediately sent out a 75-ton wrecker and two 55-ton lowboy trailers to the Nanticoke, PA location along Interstate 81. Upon arrival at the scene, our team went to work preparing the site. It takes great preparation and special rigging to lift a mixer barrel loaded with 12 yards of concrete!
The heavy rigging company began the process by using the 75-ton rotator to lift the hardened barrel. This was quite a feat as the barrel weighed approximately 47,000 pounds. Next, they drove the mixer out from under the body, allowing the Lowboy to back under the body. With great care and precision, the mixer was lowered down onto the trailer for transport. Finally, the truck chassis was loaded onto the second Lowboy.
From Nanticoke, both the mixer and chassis were transported to the customer’s shop in Hagerstown, Maryland. The heavy rigging company completed the job by offloading both pieces. Another heavy lifting job completed safely and efficiently!
